The 2023 HOSA International Leadership Conference was held in Dallas, Texas at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center June 21-24. South Dakota had a record number of students, advisors, and other chaperones travel to Texas for this incredible HOSA conference. Our state brought 195 attendees to ILC during 2023, 148 were students each qualifying in their respective competitions at the state conference.

Among many events, the HOSA International Leadership Conference has continued to allow members to expand their health care knowledge, to hone their leadership skills, and to connect with members across the world. This year, qualifying South Dakota HOSA members brought their year of hard work to Dallas, Texas. Other than competing, attendees attended workshops, general sessions, and meetings. The conference truly allows individuals of all interests relevant in the medical field to shine through events and breakout sessions.

 

Through attendance of exhilarating general sessions with thousands of international participants, frantic pin trading of the South Dakota bison design, and successful participation in a wide range of competitive events, SD HOSA made its mark on the conference. Over the course of the week, we embraced HOSA. We built new relationships with other South Dakotans and people around the globe. We furthered our knowledge in enlightening workshops. We grew as both HOSA members and leaders.

 

We created memories that will last a lifetime and will remain a powerful part of our individual journeys in healthcare. South Dakota HOSA, we truly went BEYOND ALL LIMITS at this year's ILC!
