When were you in HOSA?
I was involved in HOSA all four years of high school (2012-2016).

What chapter?
I was a part of the Harrisburg HOSA chapter.

What state officer position were you?
My Junior year of high school I was President-elect and my senior year I was the President of the South Dakota State Chapter.

Where do you go to college?
I started my freshman year of college at SDSU and am now completing my degree at DSU.

What is your major?
I always knew I wanted to do something in the medical field. While in HOSA my dreams ranged from Nursing to Pharmacy. I am now finishing my bachelor's degree within Respiratory Therapy.

What advice would you give HS students in HOSA today?
The biggest piece of advice I have would be to take advantage of all the opportunities that HOSA provides you. HOSA can open up so many amazing doors for you and your future. Make sure you take the time to network with all the other students and healthcare professionals who have the same passion and dreams as you!

How did HOSA help you get to where you are today?
HOSA provided me wonderful opportunities and experiences in the healthcare field. My experiences as state president played a huge part in getting me to where I am today. I was fortunate to go to Washington D.C. and numerous national conventions during my time in HOSA. These opportunities allowed me to network with so many amazing individuals and develop my leadership skills.

Future plans?
I began to work at Sanford Health two years ago in Respiratory. Within the next year I hope to be a Respiratory Therapist in the NICU setting and start working towards my Master's in Healthcare Ethics.
